We believe in making a difference by giving back to our community. Wise colleagues once told us that when we join the boards of worthwhile community organizations, we should aspire to lead those organizations. Inspired by this call to action, our President, Michael Sasco, has chaired the following boards:

Basinview is also making a difference by preparing “next generation” board members to assume their rightful places at the board tables of significant private, public and non-profit organizations in our region. In 2011-2012, Basinview designed and delivered a program to the leaders of FUSION, a network of 20-40 year olds interested in having a positive impact upon their community. Twenty-three young professionals completed the program. At the end of the experience, a participant in the program noted: “Knowledge and skills gained from this program will give me the confidence to actively participate on community boards. I would recommend this program to anyone, of any age, who is looking to play an active role in their community.”

Another participant evaluated her experience as follows: “After having participated in the pilot program, I believe this series is a critical first step for anyone wishing to pursue board membership. I have personally learned a great deal about my role as Chair…and felt the content was instrumental in ensuring my term began on the “right foot”. I am appreciative of Michael and Basinview for creating this opportunity for the 20-40 demographic and encouraging us to participate in a board capacity in our communities/regions.”
